One of the more common treatments for chronic tinnitus is the introduction of a pleasant, constant background sound. This is especially important when it comes to sleeping. Tinnitus can lead to insomnia. For some, white noise or recordings of relaxing noises help by replacing the constant sounds caused by tinnitus. For others, these methods can be pushed into everyday life, as recordings may be used in any situation where there is a low degree of background noise.
